Refacing & Repair

We have several options for repairing and finishing your floors, all of which we discuss and examine using color and stain swatches. You can also choose your floors sheen, from matte, satin, semi gloss or high gloss. Oil based polyurethane is the most popular finish used, but other water based finishes are also an option.

Our Process

We first prep your space by hanging plastic over cabinet areas, taping of carpet & tile, and adjusting the thermostat.

Sanding begins using dust-free speciality equipment. We typically apply wood filler between sandings.

Once sanding is complete, we'll put color down for you to visualize colors in your lighting conditions.

After you've picked your color, we'll review types of finishes. We offer an oil-based finish or an epoxy, water-based finish. Finishes will darken your color by around 30%.

You'll have to stay out of the home for 24 hours after finish is applied. Furniture can be moved-in 48 hours after finish is applied. We recommend 30 days before placing rugs.

We'll then install flush-mounted vents (If requested) and shoe molding. Shoe molding can be oak to match floor color, or white to match base-board.

Painting baseboards and a complete cleaning available for an additional fee.

On average, projects last 3 to 6 days, depending on the square footage.
